Synopsis

Jenny Delecolle

Director

After studying social sciences, Jenny Delecolle worked for 10 years as an advisor to social partners to improve working conditions in companies. Upon arriving in Corsica in 2006, she worked at ARACT Corsica and became interested in the interventions of ergonomists like René Baratta, who used video as a tool for workers to confront their own work practices. In 2010, she brought together a collective that founded the association Operae, with the aim of reflecting on work through artistic action. That same year, she trained in documentary filmmaking at the Ateliers Varan in Corsica, where she directed the documentary ==Performance Composite==, set in an aeronautical component manufacturing plant in Tavera. Since 2014, she has directed over a dozen short films with various audiences, often those distanced from cultural systems, focusing on topics such as work, the relationship to the city, and territorial adaptation to climate change (in collaboration with editor Élise Caruelle). She also works with theater artists to create performances based on the stories of workers (in collaboration with the Sub Tegmine Fagi Company). Since 2021, she has coordinated the ==Le Travail Autre== meetings in Ajaccio, aimed at reflecting on our condition through cinematic and literary works, alongside the contributions of researchers focused on work. In 2022, she assisted Pascal Omhovère in adapting for the stage the final part of the book ==En travail - Conversations sur le communisme== by Bernard Friot and Frédéric Lordon. At the same time, together with filmmaker Lucie Bonvin, she directed an 'experimental' film based on the recordings of the ==Le Travail Autre== meetings, during which this play was performed. In 2023, she co-directed ==Camera Obscura==, adapted from Manon Delatre’s narrative (Éditions du Commun), which examines power dynamics in the film industry, particularly on film sets. That same year, she participated in the Ateliers Varan in Corsica as a trainer for three weeks.
