Anne Toussaint
Director
After working as an assistant director on Jean Pierre Mocky's film ==Ville à Vendre== in 1991, Anne Toussaint embarked on a long-term cinematographic experiment in places of confinement, in search of cinematographic writing capable of revealing the en-common, putting realities into relation, bringing viewpoints together, questioning and weaving meaning, poetry and politics, seeking movement and openings towards other possibilities.
In 1996, she founded the collective Les Yeux de l'Ouïe, and developed a research into modes of distribution and production in shared creation. Between 1990 and 1998, she set up and developed the "Mur d'images" programming and production workshop and the television channel at the Metz prison.
From 1998 to 2014, she worked with Alain Moreau to set up the "En quête d'autres regards" programming and production workshop and the e-public television channel at the Paris-La-Santé prison.
In 2009, she spent a year developing a creative residency with Kamel Regaya and Olivier Mitterrand at the Emmaüs Pyrénées accommodation centre in the 20th arrondissement, which led to the launch of the T.V.L. channel on the free network.
From 2014 to 2017, with the Les Yeux de l'Ouïe collective, she continued her production and directing work in the Villepinte prison, with the residents of La Courneuve, in Mahdia prison in Tunisia, with people suffering from addictions in Aubervilliers and with people in custody in Paris.
She is a long-standing member of the board of directors of the Les Écrans Documentaires festival in Val de Marne, and President of the ADDOC association (Association des cinéastes documentaristes).
