In 1982, a Super-8 workshop in Nairobi enabled to make films outside the usual journalistic boundaries.
The programme
In 1982, at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Super 8 workshop was set up for the Kenyan Ministry of Information in Nairobi, within the framework of the national TV network “Voice of Kenya”. Serving as a pocket of resistance in relation to this state institution, the workshop enabled several young people – girls and boys – to make films outside the usual journalistic boundaries which showed an extremely promising freedom of expression
The following year, a Kenyan group took part in an advanced course in 16 mm filmmaking in Paris.
