Synopsis
Thi was born in a traditional family in the country. Her parents are teachers. She came to Hanoi to study languages. Today, she works as a translator. In the city, she gains more freedom : she meets foreigners and some of them have become friends. But when her mother comes to visit, she reminds Thi of the principles of traditional education, the duties and obligations of a young woman and becomes insistent on the issue of marriage and children...

Hao Pham Thi
Director
Born in 1983, Hao holds a diploma in filmmaking from the cinema school of Ho-Chi-Minh-city. She discovered documentaries when she participated in Varan's workshop in Vietnam in 2005 and 2006. At these occasions, she directed "The Apprentices" and "A mother's daughter". In 2007, she obtained a scholarship for her participation at la Fémis' Summer University. Since then, she directed many short documentaries and experimental films. Since 2009, she works mainly as an editor on documentary and fiction features for independent and emerging filmmakers in Vietnam. She frequently runs training courses in editing and filmmaking in Hanoi DocLab and in the Cinema Young Talents promotion centre.
